Workshops for Parents and Educators of Pre-School Children

Raising Peaceful Children - is a program developed by the Mount Diablo Peace Center as a step towards nurturing peace in the next generation.

We are committed to providing valuable tools to parents and educators to assist in the raising of non-violent children by offering experiential workshops.

This project is sponsored by MT. DIABLO PEACE CENTER, a non-profit organization working to create a world that is free of violence.
 

For Parents…

This workshop will cover the following topics:

  •  Modeling respect and clear communication
  •  Encouraging and supporting constructive and imaginative play
  •  Basic skills for peaceful conflict resolution
  •  Fostering empathy in children
  •  Mediating and controlling the influence of television and popular culture
  •  Building healthy self-esteem in children
For Educators…

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Building a peaceful classroom environment
  • Ways to incorporate conflict resolution skills into the pre-school environment
  •  Fostering empathy in children
  •  Addressing war play among children
Duration...
  • Each workshop is composed of two sessions lasting 2 1/2 hours each; scheduled for the convenience of your group either in the day or evening.
  • We can customize our training to fit shorter time frames.

Our Trainers...

Marie Delahaye is the lead developer and teacher of Raising Peaceful Children.  She is a consultant and trainer in the field of conflict resolution and is the mother of tow children.  Ms. Delahaye has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from John F. Kennedy University.
 

Margareth Mayr is the program coordinator of Raising Peaceful Children.  She is a consultant in organizational development, a mediator and trainer in conflict resolution.  She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Sonoma State University.
