When the hearings on decolonization were reported in the New York Times my mother was surprised to see her name alone in the article. I guess as the only Anglo to speak out on behalf of Puerto Rican independence, she stood out just a tad. She was there as a WILPF representative, one of the few major national organizations courageous (and informed) enough to take a position on the issue. One of the great women's organizations of the world. Support it.
