Dear Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL),
Representative Alan Grayson, you are truly a breath of fresh air in a health care debate that
frankly stinks
Our group United for Healthcare Justice with members from Contra Costa, Alameda & San
Francisco counties in California voted unanimously to send you this letter of support for your
courageous stand in publicly calling the Republican Party's obstruction of health care reform for
what it really is
"The Republican health care plan is “don’t get sick,” and if you do get sick, “die quickly.”
We further applaud you for refusing to apologize to Republicans even under relentless pressure
from the Republican Party and corporate controlled media.
You were super in your response to this frantic conservative hysteria and attacks on you by
instead issuing a very sincere apology to those who have suffered from the current corporate
insurance controlled health care system
“I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner,”
We hope your words and actions will help give President Obama and Democratic members of
Congress more backbone in standing up to those corporate media amplified voices who 'promote
corporate profit over universal affordable health care'. We believe Americans are fed up with the
current health care system in America
In closing, we hope that you will also seriously look into Single Payer Health Care that can be
found in Rep. John Conyers' bill 'Medicare for All' HR676 which we believe is the only health
care plan that will really solve the health care crisis in America today and can be implemented
very rapidly! Americans long for a health care system that is always there for them routinely and
in an emergency regardless of income and employment status! As long as the for profit corporate
insurance companies are included in America's health care system we will never have affordable
universal health care for everyone. Single Payer could use a person with your outspoken courage
to call out the truth loud and clear
Sincerely in health with justice,
on behalf of United for Healthcare Justice
Michael E. Kerr
